We are not born with the skills to sit still or delay gratification, these come with experience and brain development. This class will help kids through a series of practice activities that will help them increase their tolerance for sitting still. I have an elementary education degree as well as a masters in counselling psychology. I currently work for a school board as a behaviour consultant and support many classrooms with students who struggle to regulate and focus.
Pencil, coloured pencils or crayons and unlined paper. Also if students have access to a device with a timer or have a visual timer near by that is helpful but not mandatory.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
