Beginning with story time, I will read "Sir Cumference and the Off-the-Charts Dessert" by Cindy Neuschwander. Then with a graphing video clip, we will examine the importance of mathematical graphs. We will discuss what a circle and bar graph are, why they are formed, and why it is important to understand them. The students will then create their own version of a bar graph and circle graph from data. Finally, I will provide a link enrichment activity for after class to continue the study of graphs. This is a great introduction into graphing, or a good review, for anyone who needs it.
