Class Experience
Does your learner enjoy creating and designing new things? Do they need a little guidance and growth with creative thinking skills? Then, this 4 week FLEX class is for YOU! Spring will be here before we know it! The weather will be warming up, and what better way to celebrate spring than with a lemonade stand! In this course, your learner will learn what is needed to design their own lemonade stand, and then they will be able to engage in the creation of their stand! Each week, your learner will participate in creative activities that will help them design their own lemonade business. Class Outline: Week 1: Planning the Lemonade Stand (ingredients needed, names for the lemonade stand, hours of operations, employees, prices, etc.) Week 2: Creating a Menu, Work Schedule, and a Good Cause to Support Week 3: Advertising & Persuasive Writing Week 4: Lemonade Stand Business Plan Presentation Each week, a video will be posted with weekly instructions and guidance for the weekly activities. The teacher will also provide the learners with their needed materials for the week. For example, if we are planning the ingredients needed for their lemonade stand, the teacher will provide examples and give inspiration to the learners in a posted video. Learners will have the entire week (Monday-Sunday) to work on their creative activities. Once they complete their activities, learners will post their weekly activities to the classroom for praise & feedback. Learners will provide positive comments & feedback to other learners each week. At the end of the course (week 4), learners will present their entire design plan to the class. This could be done with a PowerPoint presentation, a video uploaded to YouTube, a poster presentation, or pictures! The possibilities are endless! Students are also encouraged to actually follow through with their plan by actually creating a lemonade stand! Of course this is NOT required, but how fun would it be to see the plan in action! Learners will celebrate each others work by posting positive praise and feedback. Since this is a flex class & we do not meet live, your learner will interact with the teacher and other students through the classroom page. Each week, learners will upload their creations to share so that we will be able to celebrate their hard work! Learners will submit their creations through video or photos. The teacher will respond through messages and video messages to keep the interaction alive! Class materials will be posted on the Monday of each week. Learners will have Monday-Sunday to complete their activities. The learner’s work will not be graded in this course. The teacher will simply provide praise and feedback to each learner when they submit their creations. I can’t wait to see your learner’s creative imagination come to life!
Learning Goals
Learners will engage in various creative activities to help develop their creative thinking and writing skills. Students will learn a few necessary steps to creating and designing their own business model.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Callan, and I am so excited that you are here! I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Elementary Education from Texas A&M University. I am certified to teach early childhood through 6th grade in all subject areas. I also have an ESL certification (English as a Second Language) for grades K-6.
I taught 1st grade in the brick & mortar classroom for three years (all subject areas) before taking time off to travel for my husband's job. Being a classroom teacher allowed me to work with many different students with many different learning styles. I have taught students in small and large group settings, and I have learned many different techniques to create a safe, comfortable, and FUN learning environment. Since leaving the brick and mortar classroom, I have been looking for a way to get back to teaching, and I am so glad I came across Outschool! I hope that you will join me for one of my classes to say hello and to learn many fun things! See you there!!!
