Singing Technique & Repertoire - Christmas Songs for the Young Singer

We will train the voice each week by practicing professional vocal technique exercises and how to properly do these exercises.  We will apply the technique to carefully selected songs for young singers from Christmas song repertoire (secular songs). Students will have the choice of song selection from a song-list posted in the classroom. Song selections will include classics and contemporary songs. Class size is kept small so that students can have individual attention each week to ensure proper production of exercises and songs.  Students will practice using the voice through the chest, mix and head voice registers in both exercises and song melodies.   Students will work individually in class each week as well as be able to learn from watching their classmates.  Musical recordings will be posted in the classroom for singers to listen to and practice.  
Prerequisite:  A desire to sing!  For beginner singers it is recommended (but not required) that you take Intro. to Singing Technique for the Young Contemporary Singer to become familiar with the technique exercises we will do each week.
