Students will learn the foundations of healthy vocal technique through fun vocal exercises and song: hydration, rest, relaxation, posture, and breathing. And we will apply what we learn to popular songs.

Karina is a Dramatic Mezzo Soprano based in Toronto, and living abroad at times in Europe. Since graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance, she has continued to perform and work professionally internationally. Some 2023 performances include The Mother from Menotti’s The Consul with Opera by Request, Toronto, Canada, and the role of Roβweiβe and cover studied the role of Fricka from Wagner’s Die Walküre with the Dramatic Voices Program Berlin, Germany.  Specializing in teaching voice for Classical, Pop, and Musical Theatre, Karina is also a highly sought-after teacher for piano, music history, and music theory lessons, based on her adaptive and creative teaching methods to each unique student’s musical needs. Her diverse background as a performer and teacher offers a well-rounded learning environment, which covers and supports all of the student's 
needs. She specializes in many styles which include Pop, Rock, Classical, Musical Theatre Folk, and all styles of Contemporary Music.

She thoroughly enjoys teaching music to children and people of all ages, from professionals to absolute beginners. She believes everyone learns differently and tailors each lesson to her students' specific needs while focusing on technique, musicality, and having lots of fun! Karina is an energetic and encouraging teacher who enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion for music with her students.

There will be no required homework assigned for this one-time vocal workshop.

A class outline and lyrics sheet will be sent to students before the course begins.
