Singing Lessons for All Abilities!

Join me for a fun and engaging 1-on-1 clarinet lesson where your child will discover the joys of music! 

Beginners:

At the beginning stage of singing we focus on breath control, using the head / chest voice accurately, diction and basic note reading.  Over the course of 10 - 20 lessons, we start with just using lyrics and then moving quickly on to reading from sheet music.  This will allow the learner to build a library of performance pieces if they wish to do solos or auditions at school or in the community.  We will cover a variety of songs and styles that are suitable for the beginner voice student.

Intermediate and advanced:

Over the course of 10 - 20 lessons for each level we work on expanding the range of notes that can be sung, using a variety of different warm ups and more complex songs.    Alongside this we will learn scales, warm-up exercises and sight-reading skills.  This will ensure that the intermediate player can play confidently any solos, first audition pieces and intermediate / advanced choir.

At this stage I tend to use age appropriate musical theatre, pop and jazz songs, the ABRSM vocal repertoire books, my own specially created resources,  alongside any audition or choir / show music that the learner needs to sing.
