Calling all animal lovers! If you love to sing and you love animals then this is the perfect club for you. Each week we will be singing and learning about a different animal. If you know a lot about the animal we will be singing about you are more than welcome to share your knowledge with the other learners. This is a beginner-friendly class. The songs we will be learning are composed by the delightful Canadian composer Donna Rhodenizer. Week of July 10: Llamas Week of July 17: Dinosaurs Week of July 24: Dragons Week of July 31: Penguins Week of August 7: Wolves Each class will cover the following topics: -Physical warm-up -Breathe and posture -Vocal exploration -Tongue twister -Learning the song A coloring sheet as well as a lyric sheet will be provided. Hello and welcome!
My name is Helen (you can also call me Mrs. Helen). I have been teaching music for the past 20 years. I teach mainly beginner and intermediate piano and singing to learners ages 4-13. I received my music education through the Royal Conservatory of Music, completing Level 10 in both Piano and Singing.
I believe education should be fun, uplifting, and empowering. I value a safe and playful learning space where learners can express, create and explore. Through play-based learning, I help learners develop meaningful connections with music and with themselves. I am a compassionate and patient teacher who loves watching learners grow and succeed.
When I am not teaching, I am often busy at home with my adorable toddler and baby. I love green juices (wheatgrass anyone?) and espressos (long please!). Besides teaching music, I am also a holistic nutritionist and have been in the health and wellness field for about 8 years.
