Description

Class Experience

I wanted to design a platform that will actively engage kids in music learning and create an inclusive, positive, collaborative environment that will boost their confidence in singing for others.

By the end of this course, students will gain more knowledge and confidence in:

-proper singing technique
-how to warm up your voice
-sing in a group
-sing a solo
-audience etiquette
-rhythm
-ear training
-solfege hand signs
-composition tools
-create + present own musical creations
-importance of music in our world
Ever since starting piano at the age of six, Natalia continued to foster her love for music in various avenues of her life. Natalia holds a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education degrees from University of Toronto. She has taught music of all levels both in private studios and in school boards across Greater Toronto Area, working with instrumental bands and choirs and taught students from 3 to 70 years old emphasizing there is NO age limit to music.

She is an active member in the Arts community here in Toronto, where she danced and sang in various Youth Ensembles. Additionally, she is currently a committed choir member in her church and professional community. This past summer, Nataliya also worked as an assistant director for Bravo Broadway's production of Alice in Wonderland Jr Musical at Living Arts Centre!

Nataliya believes in the importance of music education as it is applicable in all various subjects in school and our global world. Music builds confidence and gives students a chance to express themselves through creative, positive, interactive means and helps change our world for the better!

I decided to create this course (Junior version of "Singing 101:Technique, Solfege, Rhythms, Ear Training, Music Games" geared for 6-8 years olds) due to interest and demand of parents. I am lucky to open this course for a younger age group and share my love for music education for kids across the world. Thank you for your support.
Homework is assigned for each class Monday, Wednesday, Friday (please see Course Description for specific expectations)
Recommended daily practice time: 15-20 min
 4 files available upon enrollment
Students will not have to purchase anything for this course as teacher will provide any supplemental handouts necessary. Teacher will post specific class outline a day before class for students and parents/guardians.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment is made throughout the lesson. Feedback is given through verbal communication during the lesson and specific written feedback is sent to parents/ guardians via Outschool email.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Although this class is geared for ages 6-8 and homework is not "difficult", parent check-ins regarding daily practicing with their child would be strongly encouraged for their success in the course.
