Beginner Level
In Dimensions Math, level KB, students are working on second semester kindergarten standards. This is a great review for students in higher grades struggling with basic math foundations, or a good way to enrich younger students who are ready for more difficult curriculum. The class will build each week, and supplemental materials can be supplied upon request. Each class will progress through several teacher taught lessons, using interactive engagement and participation from learners whenever possible. The class schedule will be as follows: Week 1: Numbers to 20 (writing numbers, counting number, number words, 1 more or less than) Week 2: Number bonds (putting numbers together, parts making whole, looking for a part) Week 3: Addition (introduction to addition, count on) Week 4: Addition and intro to Subtraction (add up to 10, and take away/take apart) Week 5: Subtraction (review of take away/apart, count back, subtract within 10) Week 6: Addition and Subtraction (part-whole, add to or take away, put together or take apart) Week 7: Numbers to 50 (count by tens, 30s, 40s, and 50s) Week 8: Numbers to 100 (count by fives, 60s-100s) Week 9: Time (learning about a clock and telling time to the hour) Week 10: Money (coins- pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters) Should you feel fit, your child can begin at any time within the course. Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Special Education
Welcome to my classroom! I am Mrs. Jones and I have a passion for teaching learners how to love learning. The classes I teach are reading, math, and social skills. I individualize each session by using accommodations and modifications as needed for neuro- diverse learning populations, as well as neuro-typical elementary aged students. I have been a Special Education teacher for 7 years and have worked with students with all learning abilities (Specific Learning Disabilities, Other Health Impairments, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, etc.). I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and masters degree in Exceptional Student Education at the University of Central Florida (GO Knights!). I have Reading and ESOL endorsements, as well as Autism and Guidance Counseling certifications. My passion is to help struggling learners enjoy learning and feel included in all aspects of their education. Fun facts about me are that I love to dance, travel (especially cruising), and watch football! I cannot wait to meet you and learn with you through Outschool (:
