This small group class will run for 8 weeks and will cover 3rd grade skills to either review or preview the school year curriculum.

US Grade 3
I have taught math for over 20 years. I taught Math Intervention to struggling learners for 12+ years. I incorporate visual learning with practice and repetition to ensure understanding of a topic before moving on to the next. My teaching style is very straightforward without a lot of bells and whistles.

The class consists of a review:

Week 1: Numbers to 10,000, Place
 Comparing Numbers, The Number Line, 
Week 2: Number Patterns, Rounding to the Nearest Thousand, Hundred, ten, Mental Addition Introduction
Week 3: Mental Addition, Mental Subtraction, Making 100 and Making 1,000, Strategies for Numbers Close to Hundreds, 
Week 4: Sum and Difference, Word Problems, Intro to regrouping
Week 5- Addition and Subtraction, Addition with Regrouping, Subtraction with Regrouping —Estimating Sums and Differences, Word Problems, Intro to Multiplication
Week 6: Multiplication and Division
Basic review, Multiplying and Dividing with 0 -10, Division with Remainders, Odd and Even Numbers, Word Problems — 2-Step Word Problems, Multiplying Ones, Tens, and Hundreds, Multiplication Without Regrouping, Multiplication with Regrouping Tens, Ones, Both, Multiply a 3-digit Number with Regrouping Once, Multiplication with Regrouping More Than Once
Week 7: Dividing Tens and Hundreds,
Dividing a 2-digit Number by 2, Dividing a 2-digit Number, Dividing a 3-digit, Quotient is 2 Digits
Week 8: Fractions of a Whole, on a Number Line,: Comparing Fractions with Like Denominators And Numerators, Equivalent Fractions, Simplifying Fractions,: Comparing Fractions, Adding and Subtracting Fractions

Other units covered if there is time remaining:
 Measurement, metric system, Graphs, geometry, time and money
