Beginner Level
In this beginner American Sign Language class learners will enjoy lively music, ASL instruction, fun puppets, props and more! Each week students will learn more than 40 new ASL signs, in a fun and engaging way with themed stories and songs. We will begin each class with a short hand warm-up, Singing & Signing along to a “Hello” song and then meeting my puppet Blue! Students will learn over 120 signs throughout this beginner course in a fun and engaging way!
Miss Dena has been teaching beginner ASL for 10 years, she is cheerful and patient with young learners and will meet them exactly where they are, developing their abilities through repetition and song. All of her classes are well-planned and designed to engage children in a fun and relaxed way, while instilling a love of learning through music and play!
Homework Offered
Learners will have to identify an object(s) given in ASL and take a picture with it to post in the classroom after each meeting. For the last class students can post a photo or videos of their favorite sign(s) or songs and other learners will have to guess what they are signing!0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
