This five-day camp is all about a positive association with learning—teacher plays live music while learners build key skills such as phonics and phonological awareness, vocabulary, number sense, manual dexterity, and confidence.
Class Experience
This camp sets kids up for a lifetime love of learning. Through fun activities such as interactive songs, action rhymes, finger plays, and games, students expand vocabulary, increase phonological awareness, improve manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, strengthen emotional intelligence, gain social skills, and practice problem-solving. Students will engage in fun activities that teach them to love learning at an early age and set them up for life-long learning success.
Twenty minutes of reading! During class, I will ask everyone to show a book and say its title. The homework is then to read the book later in the day with a grown-up. The goal is to instill a lifelong love of reading in kids, best achieved when they make a habit of reading with loved ones on their own time.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
