Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
Begin your journey to singing like a pro with practical exercises and tips to strengthen and grow your voice! We will explore elements of singing technique such as posture, breathing, warming up, tension release exercises, and building a foundational warm-up that singers can utilize throughout their singing journeys.

I have been teaching private voice lessons for a decade, to students aged 7 to adult. I am an experienced performer myself and greatly enjoy bringing this knowledge to my students. As both a professional singer and actor, I can bring both areas of expertise to my students. I hold two Bachelor of Music degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Therapy and studied classical voice and pedagogy. I also hold a Master of Fine Arts in Performing Arts.

Healthy technique is key to discovering, growing, and maintaining your singing voice. Each lesson will have a video lesson with warm-ups and exercises specific to the topic of the week, in addition to review of the previous weeks. Singers are expected to follow and sing along with each video. Singers are encouraged to practice the techniques and exercises in each video throughout the week and to view each video multiple times throughout the week so that they can sing along with each exercise.

Each lesson will also have a topic of discussion for singers to explore, in the form of discussion question posts. Singers are asked to comment their responses to each post in the classroom. I will be responding to comments at least one to two times per week so as to promote an active discussion and to provide assistance and clarification on the exercises. Singers are also encouraged to share their additional questions and discoveries in the classroom each week so that we can share in successes and challenges and all learn together.

I look forward to helping you to reach your singing goals!
