Nursery rhymes are short and easy to repeat, so they become a child's pathway to reading. They teach sounds, syllables, memorization, counting, and patterns. Children feel confident when they are familiar with a song or story. We will begin each lesson listening to a nursery rhyme and discussing the characters and the message. Finger puppets will help as the students repeat the rhyme. We will have fun singing and retelling the story in different voices. Maybe we will say the nursery rhyme...

I have taught in the preschool classroom for the last 12 years and online for the last 2. I have seen first-hand how reading, singing, and acting out nursery rhymes build confidence and creativity.
Coloring sheets will be sent after class, but are not required to complete.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
