Simply Writing With Clara: Using Keyword Summaries

Students will learn:
• how to identify keywords in a given sentence
• how to identify what the main idea of a paragraph is
• how to retell a paragraph in your own words
• mechanics of writing
• sentence structure
• use descriptive writing through the use of: adjectives, adverbs, creative sentence openers
• basic self-editing

I have been an educator for nearly 23 years. My teaching experience has been in many different learning environments such as preschool, the classroom, and one-on-one.  
I am certified as an Early Childhood Educator and Orton-Gillingham Therapeutic Tutor.  
I am a homeschool mom for the past 12 years to my three (now teenage) children. I have an extensive background in working with students of all levels, specifically children with learning disabilities.  My 14-year-old daughter has dyslexia, so I bring a broad perspective not only as a teacher but as a parent.  My passion is to work with all students and help facilitate them in their learning.
