Students will learn Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Relationship Skills. You'll see your learner growing in their ability to identify and use various social skills/strategies.
Mrs. Tash is an Educational Practitioner with nearly a decade of combined, specialized experience in teaching, planning, development, delivery of academic curricula, life-skills, social-emotional learning and specially designed instruction. She has earned a Master's degree in Childhood Education, certified in Students With Disabilities (SWD/Special Education), Reading Intervention (Orton-Gillingham), as well as a designated school lead trained in Trauma-Sensitive Practices and Social Emotional Learning at the University of Puerto Rico .

Since 2018, Mrs. Tash has worked to help schools, teachers and parents better understand how students are impacted by threats and stress such as the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to working exclusively with students with disabilities, autism and/or who’ve experienced trauma from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

Mrs. Tash is a former NYC educator, holds a Professional Teaching License in New York and teaches life skills as a K-12 Special Education Coordinator in Bellevue, Washington (Pacific-Northwest).
Each lesson in each unit builds toward the fifth lesson. The fifth lesson is a performance task which allows learners to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they learned throughout the unit.

Upon requests, a rubric can be provided for the fifth lesson in each unit to help you determine if your learner is meeting the goals of the unit.

Mrs. Tash does not formally monitor student progress, grades, learning goals, etc.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
