Simply Semi-Colons

Through this engaging 55 minute lesson on semi-colons, students will learn how to create well-developed compound sentences. Students will participate in a live course where they are encouraged to participate with the teacher in the interactive lesson! The teacher will provide a memorable lesson on the correct usage of semi-colons with a unique approach that is guaranteed to reach all learners!

In this course, we will start with the basics of when to use a semi-colon, how to correctly use one, and why it is important. We will then advance to how to use the semi-colon as a “super comma”! Throughout the instruction, students will be completing brief tasks to ensure that they are fully understanding each individual concept. At the end of the instruction, students will participate in a virtual collaboration board where they will demonstrate what they know and aid each other in furthering their knowledge. We will end the class with a review game before saying goodbye!

The class will use a Nearpod presentation to go through the information and complete the review tasks. This presentation will be available to students after the class as well. 

There will be a variety of handouts (additional practice) available for the students to complete if they choose to do so. The teacher will provide feedback on these assignments if requested.
