Description

Class Experience

In these sessions, students will be introduced to phonics through a kinaesthetic approach.  Both decoding and encoding skills will be implemented in a sequencial format.  
Over the eight weeks, we will cover the following: 
• cle, ckle, fle, gle, kle, ple, tle, zle, 
• y for baby
• y for cry
• ph for phone
• gh for ghost
• ough for dough/tough 
• sion for television
• tion for station 
• sight words:  beautiful, pretty, above, one/non/done, blood/flood, heart, island, walk/talk/chalk

Students will be taught phonics through and Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory approach.

I have been an educator for nearly 23 years. First as a preschool teacher, then a therapeutic tutor for children with learning disabilities and then as a homeschool parent and writing teacher.  My extensive background in education and particularly in the language arts realm, allows me to have a unique expertise in educating children in all things reading, writing & spelling!

Supplemental worksheets assigned for reinforcement and practice upon parent request.

Printouts will be posted in "classroom" prior to class. Please check right before class commences. 
Pencil/pen.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Through class observation.
