This class is designed to be simple and fun with a Cheesecake that can be made by anyone with an interest, no matter what skill level you are at in the kitchen. Students will learn how to make a no bake cheesecake that is perfect for any occasion. There are not a lot of challenging steps for this recipe and that makes it a perfect introductory cheesecake. I will structure this class to allow for some sharing time while we are completing some of the boring steps that is designed to boast confidence and help make each baker feel comfortable.
* To make the cream cheese and cool whip easier to work with, please take it out of the fridge/freezer an hour before class. * Please have Supplies and Ingredients gathered and ready before class time. * If using a whipping cream instead of cool whip, please whip ahead of class. * Berries that need to be stemmed or cut up should already be prepped ahead of class time. Ingredients Crumb base - 2 cups of Graham Wafers (crushed, we will explore different ways to crush them so you can just buy the wafers if you like) 3 TBSP brown sugar 1/2 cup of butter melted Filling - 8 oz cream cheese (250 grams) 1 cup white sugar 1/4 tsp salt 2 tsp vanilla 1 tub of cool whip (4 cups) 3 cups of berries Supplies Measuring cups Measuring spoons Fork for mixing Crumbs or a pasty blender 9x9 cake pan Large bowl Small bowl Stand mixer will be helpful but not required Mixing spoons 1 plate and fork (or more if you decide to share) for eating a piece of the very good cake that you just made!
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Because we are in the kitchen and using the microwave and maybe the stove, it is recommended that a parent be near to assist if needed. Also, please be aware that dairy product and possible other allergy sensitive products may be used.
Lifelong learner with a desire to build confidence in others.
