Description

Class Experience

Students will learn about algebraic expressions.   They will learn about the different pieces of an algebraic expression as well as what like terms are.   This will help students when it comes time for them to start pre-algebra topics, such as: combining like terms and applying the properties of addition and multiplication.  If time allows, we will also combine like terms by simplifying basic expressions.  

Using a presentation, I will go over the basic vocabulary involving algebraic...

Students will identify the parts of an algebraic expression (including terms, constants, coefficients, and variables).
Students will be able to identify like terms.

-Paper & pencil OR -Whiteboard & whiteboard marker
-Color-coding materials: crayons/markers/colored pencils OR different colored whiteboard markers

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
