One of the first things student's need to know about Geography is the 5 Themes of geography. Students will start out with learning what a Place is. What does a place look like, smell like, taste like, and what might you hear at a place. The next theme they learn is how to locate a place. There are two ways relative location and absolute location. The students will learn the difference between the two, and how to explain how you can find a place by using both relative and absolute location. Students will then find out if that place belongs to a Region. They will explore what makes an area a region. Students will be able explain what is movement and what is moving. Last they will be able to evaluate how humans and the environment interact. Come join our exploration into the 5 Themes of Geography!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach Geography, History, and all Social Sciences. I graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville. I graduated with a Bachelors in Art degree in History. Mainly focusing on U.S. and European histories. My philosophy is that everyone should become life long learners. That there are many paths that we can take to accomplish that. I am a Navy Veteran, I worked in the transportation industry, call centers, soap manufacturing factory, and now I am a public and Outschool teacher. In my free time I like to garden and woodwork. My favorite sports are Football and Basketball. Things that interest me are Politics, nature, camping, cooking, and reading books and articles about cryptozoology.
