Description

Class Experience

Students will learn painting techniques such as:
- How to create a smooth gradient/blending
- Different ways to apply paint to canvas
- Adding small Detail
We will also touch on basic composition and lighting.
This is a one-time class so students will not have additional homework, however if they do not finish the painting during class time I will expect them to finish it on their own after class.
 1 file available upon enrollment
- 4 PAINT COLOURS: Red, warm yellow, black, white - 3 (or more) PAINT BRUSH: Thick flat brush = 3/4 - 1in wide. Medium flat brush = 1/3 inch wide. Small, thin rounded brush (smaller the better) - 1 PAINT SURFACE: smooth cardboard, like the inside of a cereal box, or a canvas. No smaller than 5x7 and no larger than 10x14 - OLD RAG/CLOTH - WATER - TAPE I also recommend having a piece of paper and pencil/pen at hand incase the learner is finished the steps early. That way they can work on a side drawing.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
All students are expected to send me a final photo of their painting so that I can provide feedback and a mark out of 16 based on the attached Rubric. The criteria looks at: Composition, Painting skill, Time/Effort, and Final product.

If a child does not want to send me their painting I will be unable to provide a grade and additional feedback.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
