In this one-time class, students will read funny limericks by famous poets. We’ll cover the 5-Rules to limerick writing & scheme. We’ll collaborate on a limerick together using a word bank. Then, students will write their own!

Class Experience
Upon completion of this lesson, students will be able to: Identify a limerick Outline key elements of limericks (including structure and rhyme scheme). Write their own clever/funny limerick.
I have numerous articles published online, in national and international publications, and I’ve taught writing workshops all over the world.
1 file available upon enrollmentPlease bring paper, pencils and erasers. A graphic organizer & word bank will be provided (PDF) to print out, but this isn’t necessary. On-screen prompts will be provided.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
3rd party apps are not required. However, there will be a PDF script (generated by Google Drive) available to print upon enrollment. You will not need an extra login to access it. No screen sharing will occur through the Zoom function. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
