In this beginners level class, the students will learn signs for people and professions. The students will learn the signs for teacher, librarian, firefighter, scientist, mom, dad, and more. The signs will be demonstrated to the students, and they are encouraged to sign back to the teacher in order to ensure proper hand-shapes, and palm orientations. The goal for this course is for students to gain a knowledge of the signs for people and professions in American Sign Language in order to aid them with basic communication skills. Also to provide students with a foundation in ASL that they can further develop.
