In this class children learn sign language during a virtual lunch picnic! What better way to learn food vocabulary than over a meal!

What better way to learn sign language of your favorite foods than during a picnic! Come join us with a snack or lunch. This is a great beginner course. We will learn the signs for a variety of foods! Each week we will cover a different topics about food or meals. [Breakfast] [lunch] [dinner] [snacks] [fruits] [vegetables] [desserts]. Weekly class will include: -Introductions (Name & favorite food) -introduce food topic -Learn 5 signs -Game time [Guess that Sign] -Learn 5 signs -Sentence practice -Review Part of our class will involve talking. As we progress we will turn off our voices and only sign. -Students will be able to identify food signs and also sign them independently. -Students will learn to sign a variety of sentences using our weekly vocabulary. [My favorite food is ____.] [My favorite fruit is ______.] [I do not like ______.] [I like to eat ____.] [I had ______ for dinner.] [I eat ____ for breakfast.] We will use the last 5 minutes to review previous lesson content and also have students sign one item they brought to our picnic. There will be an additional 5 weeks of class available to cover more signs within each category. During this class we will use our mouth for eating and hands for signing! Learning Goals
By the end of our 5 week course, your learner will be able to identify more than 30-50 signs (depending on amount of students per class).
Your learner will be able to express their favorite foods and what they eat at different meal times. They will grasp a basic concept of food vocabulary.

Supply List
Not required but students can bring lunch or a snack. This allows us to discuss some of their items in sign language.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
