Class Experience
In this class learners will participate in multiple rounds of sentence writing. During each round learners will be presented with a short list of sight words as well as a mystery word. When the list comes up, we will practice reading the sight words on screen. Then, learners will be given a series of clues that they will use to try to guess what the mystery word is. I have an Associates of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. I am certified to teach Social Studies in grades 6-12. Additionally, I have my TESOL certification. I have been a 12th grade teacher, a 10th grade teacher, and most recently a Lead Teacher in a pre-school where I exclusively worked with 3, 4, and 5 year olds. I taught at the pre-school for three years with a focus on fostering the development of early literacy and math skills. I've been a teacher on Outschool since the Summer of 2020. During that time I've continuously taught my Sight Word Swing Level 1 and 2 classes, my Writer's Workshop class, and done private tutoring.
Learners will need a pencil and paper for class.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
