In this class learners will participate in multiple rounds of sentence writing. During each round learners will be presented with a short list of sight words as well as a mystery word. When the list comes up, we will practice reading the sight words on screen. Then, learners will be given a series of clues that they will use to try to guess what the mystery word is. After learners correctly guess the mystery word, we will use our completed sight word list to write sentences. Learners will each be given a turn to create a sentence using the list of words we are working off of. Learners will also be challenged to use all of the sight words from each list in the sentence that they create. The teacher will write each sentence that we create down on screen and learners will copy it onto their paper. This process will repeat for as many rounds as class time allows. To be successful in this class learners should already have some familiarity with sight words and basic sentence writing. ***Please note, this class is designed to be a sight word recognition class.*** Class Schedule Week of October 10th: think, because, picture Week of October 17th: kind, help, friend Week of October 24th: plant, grow, enough Week of October 31st: careful, through, busy Week of November 7th: different, answer, question Week of November 14th: thought, should, where Week of November 21st: again, dream, quiet
