Class Experience

In this class the learner will engage in fun and exciting activities while improving the fluency of the 1st grade level Dolch Sight Words. Knowing sight words is a very important component in building reading fluency. My class is structured as a whole group classroom instruction. The students will take turns saying and clicking on each sight word. As they say and click on the sight word they will uncover whether or not they found the creeper in the Minecraft game. My teaching style is I do, we do, you do. This means that I will model to the class of learners how to complete the activity. Next, I will give the students a chance to try it while I guide them through the activity. The activity consists of two rounds. In the second round the students will be able to play the game with minimal support from the teacher. The learners will interact using a google slides activity through Zoom. The learners will need to know the basic Kindergarten Dolch Sight words.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am currently a 4th grade teacher. I have also had experience in grades Pre-K-8. I have been teaching for more than 10 years. I love creating engaging activities that are fun and exciting for students. My job is to create a learning environment where students love to learn. I will be teaching math classes to help students improve their multiplication facts. I will be teaching phonics and writing. I will also be teaching a reading class that focuses on reading comprehension skills. My philosophy behind teaching is that all students have different learning abilities. Not all students learn the same and it is the job of the teacher to create differentiated activities that will engage all types of learners. I am a mother of 6 children ages ranging from 22 years to 1 year old. In my free time I love watching movies on Netflix and playing board games with my children.
