Class Experience

During this ongoing course, your students will work each week on sight word mastery with a variety of games. We will use a multi-sensory approach while implementing a variety of strategies that are sure to keep your learner engaged. In level one, your beginning reader will begin to master the primer and grade 1 Dolch Sight Word List. Students in this course should have letter recognition skills, phonemic awareness, and be starting to read words on these lists.

Sight words are high frequency words commonly found in early literacy text. The strategies we use to practice sight words in these fun games can easily be used by parents and guardians to further support their reader's mastery of the sight word list.

What to expect:
 1) Each week, students will have a post that identifies what game we will play that week and what materials they need.
 2) After each word is randomly drawn, we will practice the word using a variety of activities.
 3) If time permits, we will play the game multiple times.
