In this first unit we will learn to read: the, I, see, a, and cat. We will practice recognizing, spelling, and writing the words. We will use flashcards, a game, and an emergent reader to practice the words. Students will be given materials to practice the words at home. This class is for beginning readers who know their letters and are ready to learn some words! Parents should be nearby to help with any technology issues but do not necessarily need to sit with their child. Of course...
Students will be able to recognize on sight the words: the, I, see, a, and cat. Students will practice spelling the words: the, I, see, a, and cat. Students will practice writing the words: the, I, see, a, and cat. Students will participate in reading an emergent reader using some of their new sight words.
Students will be given materials then can print and use at home for additional practice with these words.
