Class Experience

*** PLEASE READ BEFORE ENROLLING: My sight word classes are meant to be taken in order. Each class builds on the previous class, so I suggest starting with class #1 or meeting the following requirements:
Students should have previously taken my "Sight Word #19" class OR already know the sight words "I, like, my, see, can, the go, a to, we, you, look, at, is, big, with, for, he, she, little, have, here, are, and, play, said, put, come, they, this, help, in, me, on, up, down, away, jump, of, where, do, it, be, went, or, had, how, but, walk, am, so, an, no, his, her, has, by, him, will, day, want, that, not, came, one, two, all, make, was, get, out, about, would, who, three, from, what, find, many, four, as, these, your, five, some, were, into, called, again, there" before enrolling in this class. ***

Each day a new sight word will be introduced to the students. The sight words will be introduced in the following order.
                 "their" on Monday
                 "could" on Tuesday
                 "good" on Wednesday
                 "yes" on Thursday
                 "more" on Friday

Each day, we will review our previous sight words (using flashcards), talk about the new sight word, use the new word in a sentence, write the word, and then READ it together in several sentences (which are presented via PowerPoint).

***Please note that this class meets for a minimum of 25 minutes. We do sometimes go over by about 5-15 minutes depending on the number of kids enrolled as well as the pace of the readers.***

Other Details

Parental Guidance
It is best if children are able to recognize their letters by sight and sound before taking this class. If you need help with this, feel free to contact me about tutoring your child over these skills. Also, please check the list of the requirements in the class description before enrolling.
Supply List
Students should have a dry-erase board, dry-erase marker, and eraser for class. If a dry erase board is not available, a piece of paper with a writing utensil will work fine too.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Ms. Angela. I am a mom, wife, teacher, and self-proclaimed animal lover! Family and teaching are my number one passions in life! I first fell in love with teaching way back in high school while working at a local daycare. I taught at that same daycare (as the lead pre-k teacher) all through my college career. After graduating, I left that daycare to teach as a certified teacher at a local elementary school. There, I earned a total of five years of teaching experience in both the 2nd and 4th grade. Then, after having kids of my own, I decided to create an in-home, preschool based daycare which is where I am currently and have been for the past five years! It has been amazing getting to teach this young group of kiddos again, especially alongside my own two children.

A few other things about myself:
My husband and I have been married for ten years! Together, we have a five-year-old son named Dominic and a three-year-old daughter named Carmela.
My favorite subjects to teach are science and art!
I also loooove photography and I spend any spare time I have behind the camera!
