Menu: Cajun Shrimp, Cheesy Grits, Spring Veggie Medley ****Plant based options are available**** Lets explore the culture, cuisines, and flavors of New Orleans, through this delicious dish During the first 10-15 minutes of each class will be dedicated to a quick discussion to discuss any class rules, kitchen safety guideline, meal prep tasks, as well as the background behind the history of each meal and the technique(s) that will be used during the prep and cooking process. During these sessions, our students will learn about: 1. Practicing basic kitchen safety and guidelines 2. Proper cleaning, cooking, and storage guidelines 3. Experimenting with new ingredients and create a cauliflower grit 4. Slicing and mincing vegetables 5. Experimenting with Cajun and Creole flavors, ingredients, and spices 6. Properly Sautéing vegetables. 7. Properly prep and cook seafood
I am a STEAM Enrichment Instructor for Children ages 5 -18. I have taught fusion-inspired cooking, baking, and food art classes and Camps over 10 years.

1 file available upon enrollmentAll ingredients can be purchase at your local farmer's markets and International sections of your grocery stores. The full recipe will be set out prior to class starting. TOOL LIST 1. 2 big/ medium bowls 2. 2-3 small prep bowls 3. A pot 4. Cutting board 5. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will get to sample their dish and share with their friends and family.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Since we will be using, sharp utensils, food processor, the stove top, oven, graters, etc. for certain recipes, parental supervision is highly advised if any assistance is need. For some students that is a good amount of help is needed and for others, it is not much help that is needed. Each jr chef is different and that is expected.
