Class Experience

During these sessions, our students will learn about:
1.  Practicing basic kitchen safety and guidelines
2.  Proper cleaning, cooking, and storage guidelines
3.  Experimenting with new ingredients and create a cauliflower grit
4.  Slicing and mincing vegetables
5.  Experimenting with Cajun and Creole flavors, ingredients, and spices 
6.  Properly Sautéing vegetables.
7.  Properly prep and cook seafood
I am a STEAM Enrichment Instructor for Children ages 5 -18. I have taught fusion-inspired cooking, baking, and food art classes and Camps over 10 years.

All ingredients can be purchase at your local farmer's markets and International sections of your grocery stores. The full recipe will be set out prior to class starting. TOOL LIST 1. 2 big/ medium bowls 2. 2-3 small prep bowls 3. A pot 4. Cutting board 5. A knife: chef knife , pairing knife (one that they are most comfortable with) 6. Rubber spatula and regular spatula 7. A small spoon and fork 8. A box grater 9. A boiling put of water 10. Cooking spoons 11. Measuring spoons and Cups 12. Large Skillet 13. Whisk
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will get to sample their dish and share with their friends and family.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Since we will be using, sharp utensils, food processor, the stove top, oven, graters, etc. for certain recipes, parental supervision is highly advised if any assistance is need. For some students that is a good amount of help is needed and for others, it is not much help that is needed. Each jr chef is different and that is expected.
