Class Experience

In this laid back class, students will have the opportunity to interact with both their peers and teacher while practicing their communication skills. Each student will be allowed a few minutes to share ONE item they cherish. Afterwards (if time permits), students will draw a picture and write about the item they shared during the lesson. To be successful in this class, students should have the basic ability to speak in complete sentences to describe their objects, and write simple words to complete sentences.

Learning Goals

In this class, students will build effective communication and listening skills that are essential for a young child's learning. If time permits, students will have the opportunity to use their imagination and fine motor skills to create a picture of their show & tell objects along with writing a basic sentence about their picture.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! Thank you for being here. I have taught in the public education system in the United States for 5 years. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th grade. Along with this I have also taught ESL to students in China for 3 years. I have many months of experience substitute teaching in all grade levels K-12. I love the diversity between all grade levels. I am passionately dedicated to the education of ALL students no matter their personal circumstance by creating a classroom environment that is both positive and engaging where my students feel safe and loved. I believe that through teaching I can help encourage children to become their best self while achieving important educational goals. As a mentor to my students' learning, I understand and promote learning through technology, physical manipulative, and visual presentations to stimulate natural curiosity and excitement in my classroom. Although this hold true to my brick and mortar classrooms, these ideas and concepts are just the same in my Outschool classroom. I enjoy teaching many different subject areas including (but certainly not limited to) elementary math, reading, science, and social skills.
