Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi my name is Angela Blanchet. I am the owner of Autism Superpowers. I have been homeschooling my two children for 10 years, both of whom have autism. I have a Master's Degree in nutrition and a Bachelor's degree in psychology. I have taught grades K-12. I also tutor special needs children and have taught English online to children in China for many years. My passion is teaching children with special needs and helping them find their abilities, which I refer to as their “superpowers”. I have tutored children with autism and special needs for several years to support both social goals (conversational and life skills) and academic goals (reading, writing and math skills). I encouraged and supported my 13 year old son in writing and publsihing a book entitled "Maybe Autism Is My Superpower". I feel such joy in helping children focus on their abilities instead of their disabilities and I encourage them share these gifts with others! Our organization is staffed with teachers who have experience with the special needs population, are compassionate, kind, educated and share the same mission which is to help children find and focus on their abilities while supporting their needs. We will be offering many different classes for the special needs populations to help improve their social skills and spuuport their needs, while fostering their abilites. These classes include social groups, music classes, lego clubs, show and tell, cooking and art clubs.
