In this class, students will have the opportunity to learn and practice communication skills, listening skills, patience and cooperation. Each student will come to class with different strengths and things they need to work on. I will work to get a feel for where each student is at and focus on developing the needed skills for each student. My quieter students may need more support feeling comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. My more vocal students may need a little support being good listeners. Student will learn how patience and cooperation are important parts of being a good friend. They will learn how to ask questions based on what they have heard. Students will also gain confidence and self esteem by feeling they are being heard and that what is important to them is important. 

Professionally, I have a MEd with a focus on Child Development (Risk and Prevention). I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My passion is helping children realize their potential by teaching them skills to help them lead positive, productive lives. Personally, I'm a homeschooling mom of two amazing kids. I know that learning happens best in an environment that is engaging and interactive. My goal is to teach (my kiddos and yours!) material in a way that is fun and memorable.
