Show and Tell Time! (A Class to Build Better English Speaking Skills...and Confidence!)
Class experience
US Grade 1 - 4
I am really excited for this class and love it so much! As a teacher, this class has turned the shyest student into a more confident one! This class is easy, fun, and has 2 goals: build confidence and practice your English-speaking skills. Each week the students will: 1.) Introduce themselves to the class. 2.) Share something special that happened this week. 3.) Answer different questions (made to help a student THINK and voice their OPINION.) 4.) Share an item them have (may it be their...
- Students learn to express themselves through show and tell. - Students build confidence in themselves through sharing stories with other people. - Students learn build stronger public speaking skills while learning to speak louder and clearer to be understood by others. - Students learn build good listening skills while listening and remember what is shared by other students. - Students learn how to be respectful and show support to others. In this on-going class, your child will have 2 ideas to bring to class. They will need to bring these items from their home to share with the class. Students prepare a story to share about the object and their thoughts on the subject. After the show and tell section, I play a game of remembering what was shared to see if anyone remembers. If time is remaining, we will share our feedback to the students and what we liked about their item and story.
Homework Offered
I ask that each student draws and colors a picture to share with the class. This picture can be kept and will be their photo journal. Each week, the student is to remember a special moment in their week and draw that out onto paper. Please remember, the more color, the better. This will be shared with the rest of the class and will help the learning remember what they did that week that was so special.Assessments Offered
Students are assessed through their abilities to communicate well and to also be a good listener while showing respect to others.Grades Offered
