In this class students will showcase their favorite action figures from their favorite action movie as well as learn techniques for summarizing.

In this class participants will get to talk about their favorite action movie AND show off their action figures. Participants will: *Watch the trailer clip from YouTube *Summarize movie by using SWBS technique (somebody, wanted, but, so/then) *Choose words from a list to describe character traits of action figure *Describe any special powers or skills action figure possesses During the session I will moderate the discussion and provide support as needed. Students will interact by actively listening to peers, providing feedback or asking questions. Guide sheets will be available for download.
Learning Goals
Participants will learn to share in a constructive way by actively listening and responding to each other.
Participants will learn vocabulary for describing character traits.
Participants will learn to summarize using the SWBS (somebody, wanted, but, so/then) technique.

YouTube trailers of the movies participants select will be shown.
Supply List
A guide sheet for choosing character traits and an anchor chart for summarizing using SWBS are available for download (but not required). Bring your action figures!
