Each week each learner will bring at least two things to share about in Spanish! Before class the teacher will provide a handout guide with common phrases and vocabulary that learners can use to help them describe the items they choose to bring. Everyone is encouraged to practice describing the item before class--some very briefly and some in more detail depending on their level. For the first item, we will practice Spanish by asking and answering what our items are and then by asking and answering further questions about them. For the second item, the learner will first describe the item without showing it, and we will try to guess what item they are describing. This is our weekly plan: 1. Welcome 2. Each learner has a chance to share about the first item they have brought and will be encouraged to tell more about it according to their level. Other learners and/or the instructor will ask them questions from the hand-out about their item so that they can answer with the descriptions they have prepared. 3. Each learner has a chance to describe another item without showing it. We will guess what the item is based on the description, and then the learner can reveal the item. 4. If we finish showing and telling all we desire and still have time, we will finish with a game to practice Spanish more. This class is geared roughly toward upper-beginners in Spanish. Beginner to intermediate level Spanish-language learners are welcome to join. To the class welcome note, I attach a guide with question and answer phrases we will be using in class. After each class, I provide a brief list of some the phrases and words we used in class so that the learners can continue to review and a follow-up worksheet they can use after class to describe their items in writing.
