Show and tell is a tried and true technique that teachers have used for years to build listening and speaking skills. It is a chance for learns to experience the attention of others and share a favorite item or tell a story. In this club, through the use of new show and tell topics each week, learners will find their voice as they learn to share their thoughts and feelings. They will also practice good listening skills as they listen to their peers. During class each learner will have the opportunity to share as well as listen to each other. Learners will be encouraged to ask questions of each other. Participation is encouraged, but learners are welcome to watch and listen until they are comfortable. Topics will change weekly, but may include: a picture of your favorite animal, something you would take to the beach, an item you found outside, etc. Your learner will enjoy this club so much, they won't even realize they are practicing social skills! Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am excited to meet you! I am an enthusiastic teacher and believe learning should be fun. Learning is enhanced for a child when it is presented in a context made relative to their interests.
I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences. I have taught children for over 15 years. My background includes teaching EFL online to learners aged 4-16 as well as teaching preschool.
I live near Seattle, Washington with my husband and two children. We also have a Siberian Husky, two tuxedo cats, two ferrets, a leopard gecko and a crested gecko. Outside of teaching, I love cooking, volunteering at my children's school and traveling with my family. I look forward to fun and creativity with your child in my classroom!
