This is a fun class for students who love to write. Student will read and analyze the plot structure of a variety of short stories, from drama to action to suspense. Students will also learn the author's uses of figurative language, the five senses and the difference between showing versus telling. In addition to a having two teaching certificates (New York: Permanent, 7-12, and Florida: Professional, 6-12), I have a B.A. in Literature (Purchase College, SUNY), and two Masters: Master of Science in Teaching (Secondary English) from Potsdam College, SUNY; and Master of Fine Arts (Creative Fiction Writing) from National University. I have been teaching middle school and high school for 7 years, and taught College Composition and Literature as an Adjunct English Professor for four years at Miami Dade College and Broward College.
