Does your learner hate writing notes? Do they have a teacher that gives notes faster than they can take them? Want to save paper? Let me help! In this one time class, students will learn how to get all the information they need without writing quite so much. We will cover how to properly give out initials, write dates, shorten words, and still be able to understand everything we wrote down. I will help them tailor this skill to what works for them. This is great for classes that are very note heavy and use a lot of paper. In the first half of class, we will cover all the tops and tricks of creating our shorthand. In the second half, learners will practice applying that short hand to both written slides and spoken lecture. This class came out of my full note taking classes after many students told me that this was extremely helpful for them.
Learning Goals
Learners will learn how to minimize their writing time while making sure they have all the important details.
Other Details

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Miss Izzy and I was definitely born to teach. I have a General Studies degree that covers topics such as teaching and learning, psychology, and humanities. Learning can, and should, be a lot of fun! I am always excited about trying something new, and I love to help others learn new things as well. I, myself, was a very interesting student, and that really helps me to be able to cater to a large variety of learning styles. I am more than happy to accommodate all students to the best of my ability. I believe that learning should be equitable and accessible to every student who has the desire to learn. Let's talk about your learner and how we can work together to meet their needs!
I offer a variety of classes such as Greek Mythology, Beginner Spanish, Reading Tutoring, and School/Life Skills.
I have lived in Guatemala off and on for a little over 9 years, and it taught me so much more about teaching in various ways. I also operate a nonprofit in Guatemala that works in a rural village educating those who do not always have the opportunity to attend school.
Before I started teaching online, I worked for a national literacy non-profit as a Site Coordinator and a tutor. I worked with both elementary students learning to read and helped train the volunteers that came in to tutor them.
I have 2 delightful dogs who love to snuggle with, Sammie and Odyss, and I really am so excited to be your teacher!
