Class experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Students will improve their understanding of the crime genre, irony, and plot twists. Students will consider how the author wants the reader to feel about the main character. They will analyze the story to see how Dahl can make the reader care about a character that commits murder.

The class will discuss: Who was the murderer? Are they guilty, or could they plea temporary insanity? What was their motive? Does the suspect have an alibi? Did the killer use the perfect weapon?
The teacher will also highlight literary techniques employed by the author during the interactive reading of the text.
