Learn writing skills from a published author! I will be teaching students how to write their own short story in this class. The five basic components for a short story we will discuss are: the characters/point of view, the setting, the plot, the conflict, and the theme. The students will set writing goals to try to complete the story by the end of the class. I will review each story and offer personal feedback. This class will require reading one short story outside of class. Some students may also need to finish their writing assignments outside of class if they don't get finished during our session.
