This one time class is a great review for beginning readers! We will play a review game practicing short a words with the “-at”, “-ad”, “-ag”, “-ap”, “-am” and “-an” word families. Short A word family camp encouraged, but not required!

This is a review course for beginning readers learning vowel sounds. We will be reviewing the short a sound with the “-at”, “-ad”, “-ag”, “-ap”, “-am”, “-an” word families. We will be playing a word matching game and a race to the top reading game. The students will be learning through direct instruction and play through games. Students are not expected to know how to read, this is introducing these sounds and word families to them! Students can expect a brief introduction with teacher, short a song, and 2 short a games.We will conclude lessons with a quick review and goodbye time.

Students will review short a word family words through two different games.

Supply List
Print out the gameboards. Students will need crayons and parent help to cut the matching cards.
