Class Experience

In this class, students will go on a fun virtual trip to the mall to learn and practice vocabulary related to shopping in Spanish. We will cover names of common stores such as la zapatería (shoe store), la tienda de ropa (clothing store), la joyería (jewelry store), la librería (bookstore), and more. Students will also learn useful shopping phrases and questions like ¿Cuánto cuesta? (How much does it cost?), ¿Dónde está la caja? (Where is the checkout?), and Me gusta esta camisa (I like this shirt).

The class is structured to simulate a real shopping experience in Spanish. We will start with an engaging slideshow and visuals to introduce vocabulary, followed by pronunciation practice and a guided virtual walk through the mall. Students will then participate in interactive role-play activities where they take turns being the customer and the store clerk.

My teaching style is playful, supportive, and highly interactive. I use real-life scenarios, visuals, and repetition to help students feel confident speaking in Spanish. Learners will interact with me through games, role-play, visual prompts, and a fun Kahoot quiz at the end of class to reinforce vocabulary and phrases learned during the lesson.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
¡Hola! I’m a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, South America, with over 13 years of experience teaching Spanish both in traditional classrooms and online. I am proudly accredited by ACSI International Christian Schools to teach at Christian schools, which has allowed me to share my passion for Spanish with students in diverse settings.
I’ve had the joy of teaching Spanish in Christian schools, working with children and families in Montessori summer camps, and creating engaging lessons for students of all ages. My heart is in helping learners not just study Spanish — but truly enjoy it.
I believe 100% that when students are having fun, they learn better and remember more. That’s why I create lessons filled with games, movement, creativity, and conversation — making Spanish come alive in every session.
