In this course, foundational math concepts such as integers, expressions, equations, and inequalities will be covered through a math activity (WhoSavedTheDay?) themed off of Shonen Jump animes. Learners will be immersed in this world of anime that includes characters from Dragonball, One Piece, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu Yu Hakusho, and My Hero Academia! In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Nearpod will be used by the teacher to teach/review the math concept of the day. Students will join the Nearpod presentation to follow along with the teacher's direct instruction. Students will also be able to interact with the presentation for better learner understanding. Creating a Nearpod account is not necessary for learners. Blooket will be used to review the math concept of the day. Teacher will share his screen to host the different review games. Parents may create an account for their learner in order for them to collect different Blooks (characters), but it is not required.
