Through song, modeled teacher demonstration, and guided practice, students in this class will learn the easy steps to shoe tying. Students will use their senses of sight, touch, hearing, and speaking while participating in a variety of activities. Students will learn a song that teaches step by step instructions. They will watch the teacher and follow directions as I demonstrate with visual aides and guide them through the step by step process. Eye hand coordination and fine motor skills will also be developed and strengthened through practice. Let’s get all laced up together! I look forward to meeting your child! I think it is important to note that this class requires listening, watching, and following step by step directions. For that reason, the class is for ages 5 and up and limited to four learners. I use an I do, we do, you do approach. There is no magic to shoe tying and it can be developmentally challenging for some. Lots of opportunities for practice, patience, and praise will be provided. I will make it fun for sure! See you soon!

Supply List
Students will need a lace-up shoe for class. I suggest using an over sized grown up shoe. Flat laces also work better than round ones. Black laces on black shoes are hard to see and may make it more difficult for coaching. Some students may be apprehensive before class. Parents are not required to assist but are definitely welcome! Many parents do assist their children in this class. I use an I do, we do, you do approach. I model, we practice together, and when needed I provide individual assistance. I have taught over 5,000 students to tie their shoes on this platform! I also have a 97% success rate in teaching children this skill. However, please note it is not a magic technique and occasionally a child is just not there developmentally. The process includes the combination of watching, listening, doing, and following step by step by step directions. I will be patient, encouraging, give praise and recognition for effort and success. I will provide many opportunities for practice. I provide whole group and individual attention. I hope to see your child soon! Jamie **Please note, this class has a limited refund policy. I understand things happen and sometimes students will miss class. If your child misses class, I will share the class recording with you.
