In this ongoing class, students can meet others who like shiny hunting in Pokémon games! Shiny hunting can require a lot of patience, so why not pass the time with fellow trainers?

Nintendo Online membership is not mandatory, but recommended.

We can play across different Switch titles:
- Scarlet/Violet
- Sword/Shield
- Legends: Arceus
-Let's Go! Pikachu/Eevee
- Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

In this club, students will:

- Talk about their favorite shiny Pokémon and what they're trying to catch next.
- Get help from me, an experienced shiny hunter. I will be streaming my game, so if a student is more of a visual learner, I can guide them through a process by modeling on my Switch.
- Learn valuable strategies for shiny hunting, including choosing the right Pokémon for encounters and optimizing their in-game setups.
- Have a safe place to trade, avoiding risks associated with trading with strangers.
- Collaborate with fellow club members to exchange key items, tips, and tricks.

Our club is about making friends and helping each other. Anyone can join, even if they've never hunted shiny Pokémon before.

Nintendo Online is not mandatory for participation in this club. However, students with an Online membership will have access to additional features such as trading key items and Pokémon, and engaging in friendly battles with fellow club members.

There are 5 mainline Pokémon games on the Switch, and I've successfully shiny hunted in all of them. I've used a variety of shiny hunting methods as I work my way towards building a full living shiny Pokédex. In addition, I've taught in-person and virtually as a Language Arts teacher. Yes, helping students achieve certain mandated standards is part of the job, but so is supporting their social and mental needs. This class is made to offer that support through relationship-building with classmates, and practicing the patience and determination needed to shiny hunt.
