Join us as we discuss and analyze the Six book series of Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. We will follow the lives of Juliette, Adam, and Warner as they fight for love, justice, and the truth. During this 6-week course we will gain a deeper understanding of each novel by discussing and analyzing the different characters, the events, and plot twists that transpire within each novel. Each week will be devoted to a specific book to provide a more in-depth class discussion and analyzation of each novel as the story plot continues. In each meeting, students will be asked thought provoking questions geared towards the novel of the week that will have been read prior to class. We will discuss the characters presented in each specific novel, the continuation of the plot, and provide our own understanding and perception of each novel as we dive deeper into the series and continue following the storyline and the lives of our heroines and heroes as they fight for love and the truth. Questions will be asked to provide students the opportunity to express their own opinions and perceptions of the novels while also deepening their appreciation for literary content. Students will have the chance to interact with each other and the teacher throughout each class in this course for the entire duration of classes are discussion led. At the end of every class students will be able to look more in depth into the book series. Parental Guidance
As this series falls into the dystopian and sci-fi genres there are some scenes where violence occurs. No explicit descriptions are provided in the novels. The riots and violence set the scene for the climax of the series and provide a more intense story line. The books would be described as PG-13 if compared to movies. The book series is similar to the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer, Divergent series by Veronica Roth or The Selection Series by Kiera Cass.

I have been fostering a love of reading since I could read. I love discussing different novels, genres, and diving further into a book than just reading what is on the surface. I find that once analyzing the different themes and symbolism within a novel it helps us understand the characters and story line on a much deeper level. I have led small book clubs for over 5 years with children between the ages of 10-18 and have a passion for reading as well as a Bachelor's degree in English where I focused on literature and creative writing.
