US Grade 3 - 6
Even though sharks are one of the coolest animals on Earth, they are also one of the most misunderstood. In this one-time class, students will learn the basics of the shark world including how they hunt, what they eat, and some interesting facts. This class is a general overview of sharks but does not go into advanced discussions. Therefore, this class is not necessarily geared towards students who already have advanced knowledge of sharks. There will be a separate, more advanced class eventually - stay tuned! Some sharks that will be mentioned at some point in this class include: 1) Great White Shark 2) Shortfin Mako Shark 3) Thresher Shark 4) Whale Shark This class will be more of a lecture style (yet interactive) class with a PowerPoint, photos, realia, and fascinating facts about these amazing creatures. We will have conversations about these animals and students are encouraged to ask questions and discuss (although are also welcome to just absorb the information if they prefer). I have worked with sharks in the past and have also seen some in the wild and therefore, experiences will be brought into teachings to make things more interactive and fun!
