What's included
3 live meetings
2 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this 3 day camp, students will practice their addition and subtraction skills by "attacking" the number of the day! We will dive deep, exploring sharks, as we use a ten frame, number line, and mental math to solve basic math equations up to 10. Solving equations (equal to 20) will also be introduced! Students will learn about sharks as we review and practice various math equations in each class. On the last day of class we will play "Shark BINGO" using our math strategies and students will have the option to share an object from home! Day 1 and Day 2: Students will learn how to add and subtract numbers (up to 10) by using various math strategies. We will "attack" the number of the day by writing it, drawing, adding and subtracting with it! We will use manipulatives, ten frames, and mental math to solve basic math equations. Students will watch a variety of short video clips and learn about different shark species, as well as, use up extra energy jumping around during our shark chomps throughout class! Day 3: We will begin by using our shark mouth and shark teeth (all handouts will be sent 24 hours before class) to solve 2 word problems about Tony the Shark! Students will next, have fun using math strategies to play "Shark BINGO". Each student will receive a customizable BINGO board and take turns calling out the numbers for the class. This has been a lot of fun in past classes! Fun printables, short video clips, and visuals of the math equations will all be included. The class is highly interactive, educational, and fun! I can't wait to see your little learner in my classroom!
